Health Ministry
Every even year the health ministry of Old Zion Baptist Church sponsors a community health and beauty fair. The ministry was established under the leadership of Pastor Sammie Mack by Co-Pastor Ruth Mack prior to hurricanes Katrina and Rita. This torch has now been placed in the hands of Pastor Darien Ford. It's goal is to serve this community which the church is surrounded by.
The purpose is to provide information and services to those whom in some cases would go without medical services or the lack of information to contact certain agencies for assistance.
We search for vendors with services that will provide assistance for the whole person. Such as hair care, eye care, dental care, skin care, diabetic and high blood pressure screening and care, and much more.
Each year we strive for bigger and better assistance to the community. Look for this years Community Health and Beauty Fair to be announced in late October of 2020. In the meantime, eat healthy, drink plenty of water, exercise your body, and see your doctor regularly.

The Old Zion Baptist Church Scholarship Ministry was founded in 1999 by Sis. Estelle W. Collins and Sis. Abigail Washington.
The women's goal was to design a program which would bring together parents, students and the church. They wanted to form a connection which would not only give a child academic knowledge but spiritual knowledge also. Knowledge which would help our children grow to be well rounded and morally stable.
This year we've added college students who are home and away. They are welcome to apply for financial assistance as long as they are members of Old Zion and are participanting within an auxillary.
Although, the board members have changed the goal is the same. Help Us Help A Child!
