We Come This Far By Faith
Little Zion Baptist Church later named Old Zion Baptist Church, was unionized August 23, 1908 by the Free Will Association with only ten members. Among the ten members were Rev. Ben Joseph and his wife Luvena Joseph who was the first candidate for baptism.
Within the first 100 years of Old Zion's existence, the congregation has been led by five leaders. It has started out with 10 members and has had as many as 300. The congregation has united together to feed the hungry, assist senior citizens, visit the sick and shut-in, teaches and mentors youth both within the congregation and outside of it. Our doors have been open to those in need of shelter or financial assistance.
Under the current leadership of Pastor Darien Ford, we continue to regroup from previous disasters, economic stress and currently the world wide spread of the Coronavirus. We still strive to help a growing community because our Faith in God is how we've come this far!
